We’ve released a new version of the SkyHound software with several improvements focused on usability, NEXRAD display clarity, and overall stability. You can check the current version by going to the settings page (gear in the lower right corner). The bottom of the settings page will show your serial number and your current version.
The 7.6.3 Updates
- Traffic display range increased to 100 NM, up from 50 NM, giving you the ability to view traffic over a much larger area. Useful in less congested airspace. Note that only the 10 closest aircraft are displayed.
- Improved NEXRAD display layout with a cleaner presentation and clearer range information.
- Added ADS-B data protections and stability improvements to better handle malformed or unexpected ADS-B data without affecting normal SkyHound operation.
We’ve also updated the SkyHound Pilot Guide to reflect the latest software version.
Instructions for Updating
Navigate to the Settings page. Use the ‘Update’ button to join a Wi-Fi network and have SkyHound check for updates.
